Adam
(Adam Walsh - son of John Walsh)
Adam...we all miss you...
but look what you have done...
Now the world's a better place...
because you are their son.
You've become a symbol...
of every little child...
every kid...hurt or scared...
lost or running wild.
Because of you there's an army...
of people who really care...
people willing to give their time...
people willing to share.
Now there need never be...
a child with no place to go...
now there's really someone to listen...
now there's someone who knows...
a little of what it must be like...
to be lost with nowhere to turn...
now there's someone there in the cold...
to try to help them learn...
that there is still a lot of love...
left in this old world.
Because of you...
things will be better...
for the other boys and girls...
who sometimes feel...as we all do...
that maybe there's no way to cope...
with a world so desperately needing love...
because of you...there's hope.
It's all because of you...
that all this has been done...
your parent's brave response...
because you are their son.
Because of you...
there's a movement...
spreading across this land...
maybe we're starting to really believe...
to finally understand...
the kids never asked for life...
we brought them here...out of love
but now we've taken that love away...
and put ourselves first...
we tell them that we love them...
well...true love doesn't hurt.
The children should be the teachers...
we should learn from them...
they remember only the good...
and love us once again.
The children are the hope...
a chance for a better world...
they will make the difference...
each and every boy and girl.
But we must finally decide...
how do we want to live?
The children reflect what we pass down...
we'll get back just what we give.
The children are tomorrow...
they're the reason for today...
for too long we've closed our minds...
and ignored what they tried to say.
It's time to think of the children...
we've given them all our worst...
it's time to make it better...
it's time to put them first.
And because of you it's happening...
a little more each day...
because of a horrible tragedy...
that took you so far away.
Maybe we'll finally treat our kids...
with a little less neglect
maybe we'll finally show them...
a whole lot more respect...
maybe we'll finally be to them...
all that we should be...
maybe we'll finally see them...
the way they should be seen.
Adam...we all miss you...
but maybe it's finally begun...
Adam...you gave your life...
but just look what you have done.
